Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
Why do we have a PTA?
We are very fortunate at our school to have a PTA that is and has been such an integral part of the school community for many years. The PTA raises thousands of pounds every year which has been spent on improving the building, equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education.
Our PTA is about much, much more than just fundraising. The PTA exists to provide closer links between home and school, and is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school.
ALL parents and members of the school community can get involved in one of many ways.
How can YOU help?
Attend PTA meetings
Throughout the year the PTA Committee will meet to discuss ideas, events and so forth. At present, the PTA comprises of 3 parents and these 3 alone cannot come up with all the ideas themselves let alone volunteer to setup and clear up events. If you can assist in anyway and attend meetings as and when you can it would be much appreciated. We hold meetings both in the evening and straight after school. Look out for an email for details of the next meeting and why not come along!
Volunteer at events
We hold a number of events each term, some for children and some for adults. We NEED lots of help at events, not for the whole event we split volunteers into shifts, so you get to enjoy with your families too. We need people to help set up and clear up. So when you see the email asking for volunteers please respond 😊 Even if you can only help at one event a year that will be a great help!
This time you get to help by shopping (yes you read it correctly shopping!). Easy fundraising works by donating a small percentage of your purchase at a huge number of websites to the school. This will cost you nothing other than about 5 mins of your time to set it up.
Business Sponsorship
We have built up links with a number of local businesses over the years – could your business help? We always need people to sponsor events, provide goods, services or advice for free (or cheaply), provide raffle prizes etc. In exchange we are happy to help advertise businesses. If you think you can help at any time please contact one of the PTA Committee.
Attend events
We hold all different types of events from our annual Summer and Christmas Fairs, big evening dances, kids cinema, fashion shows, art shows etc. So there is something for everyone, bring the families to the PTA events whenever you can.
PTA House T-Shirts and Hoodies
We also provide school house t-shirts and hoodies, please use the QR code if you would like to purchase any and choose the colour required, size and provide your details, including your child's name at Checkout under Order Summary so we can ensure your order reaches you.

Join the School Lottery
Potentially win a jackpot of £25,000. More details can be found here: School Lottery
We also do things like offer refreshments at school events, organise the Christmas cards and Christmas hampers, sponsored reads etc. So make sure you support these schemes whenever you can.
What is the PTA money spent on?
The Committee work with Mr Turner to decide what the majority of the monies raised will be spent on this year. Over the last couple of years the monies were used to replace the sheds, completely re-equip the IT suite and to build the Faith Garden. We always endeavour to spend our funds in ways that will benefit all out children across all areas of the school and curriculum.
The PTA does have ongoing commitments each year, some of which are:-
-
Part Funding the Children’s Christmas lunch celebrations and presents
-
Donation towards the Yr 6 leavers prom
-
Help with the costs of the years 5 & 6 adventure trip
